About SALT

Hello, I'm Hayley, a paediatric occupational therapist with a passion for supporting children and families during the critical early years of development. With over 15 years of experience as an occupational therapist, I specialize in perinatal mental health and early intervention for children aged 0-6. My practice is rooted in a deep understanding of the unique challenges and natural development stages that both parents and young children experience during this time.

I hold a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from The University of Queensland. I am certified in Sensory Integration (SIPT certified) and have a passion for ongoing learning and development which ensures that I provide up-to-date and effective therapeutic interventions.

Following my time working on the psychosocial team at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital in Brisbane, I developed a strong interest in supporting women during this unique time in their lives, and have completed further study in this area including a Perinatal and Infant Mental Health intensive course through the Perinatal Training Centre.

I believe that every child and family is unique, and my therapy approach is grounded in being trauma-informed, client-centered, and strengths-based. This means I tailor my interventions to meet the specific needs of each mother and child and their family, always prioritizing their sense of safety, well-being, and harnessing the power of the parent-child relationship. I focus on creating a nurturing environment where both children and parents feel comfortable, understood, and supported.

As a parent myself, I understand the joys and challenges that come with raising children. I am committed to being a compassionate partner on your journey, offering not only my professional guidance but also a genuine sense of empathy and care. My goal is to empower you with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to help both you and your child thrive.
